My family makes fun of me. Even my husband teases that when it's time to paint we can just pull the curtain down and throw it on the floor. Tease away people because these were the easiest curtains to make. They were pretty cheap too at $10.00 per panel at Home Depot. The fringe was a bit more expensive (about $50 for the 8 yards), but I decided to get the nicer fluffier pom poms. I washed the panels first, folded the top down, sewed the pom poms on and clipped them to the rings. Easy peasy!
We are privileged to have 4 large windows in our living room. They used to have two inch blinds on them but you couldn't lift them up because they were too heavy. I wanted more light to be let in through those big windows. So, enough of my rambling. Here they are.
This is one closed panel so you can see what it looks like. I wanted to mention that we needed a 14 foot rod, which cannot be found in a standard curtain rod. So my husband bought two 1 inch copper pipse and spray painted it black. They are attached in the middle bracket by a small piece that, you know, attaches two pieces of copper pipe together. Then we used four brackets to support the pipe and we attached finials to the end. This is where a little experimenting happened and we ended up spending more on the rod than is necessary. We started off with two separate curtain rod sets and cut and pieced to get the length we needed but didn't like they way it turned out. The rings wouldn't slide over the cut and pieced sections smoothly and it was a little rickety. We also found that you can buy the curtain rod pieces separately. That is what we should have done. Oh well, live and learn. We have more windows to cover.

love your drop cloth curtains. these have been on my to do list for a while. Doesn't pom pom fringe make everything look lovely?
I noticed you were a homeschooling mom. We used to homeschool as well. One kid off to college and the other now in Christian school. I have lots of curriculum I am trying to sell. If you or anyone you know is on the hunt for anything, drop me an email at glory2him111@gmail.com
I have everything from Abeka, Saxon, Apologia, Alpha Omega. LOL, you name it, we used it.
oh you made yours fancy! love the trim.
Great! And if you get tired of them, you can use them as canvases for your wonderful little painters!

You did such a great job, Susan! I think those look fabulous. Hmmm... it never occurred to me to make my own curtain rod. We are planning to close in our back patio and line the whole back side with windows... something like that would be PERFECT! Yay!
Great idea! I made most of my curtains out of sheets because they are so much cheaper than actual curtains and you can usually use some, if not all, of the hems can be used.
First off, you are so crafty. Those are really nice. Secondly, I LOVE your windows. So bright. :)
