Jeweled Orange Ornaments

Today I decided to make dehydrated orange slices. It is so easy to do. Slice oranges 1/4 inch thick, lay on cookie sheet (I put mine on a cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet to let more air flow). Heat oven to 250 degrees and cook for 3-4 hours. I kept checking to make sure they didn't burn. A few got a little dark so I tossed those. I was trying to figure out what to do with them. I knew I wanted them on the tree so I got some craft wire and threaded it through the top, then I added some beads. Use a crimping bead at the top of the beads so they don't end up sliding off, then curl the top to make a hook to hang on a branch. You can use jute, twine, ribbon, or what ever else you might have on hand.
I love the way they look with the lights shining through them. I also like the rustic look of the oranges mixed with the fancy look of the beads.

So cute! My daughter wanted to make ornaments this year and has been using beads. This would be a perfect little touch!

Oooh, so pretty! I've always thought it would be fun to do an all natural tree, with dried fruit and pinecones and cinnamon sticks, popcorn, etc. Maybe someday.

Oh, I love these! They look great on that little tree. I can't wait to see them in person. The beads are a great addition!
